Welcome back!  Guidance is thinking of all of you and are here to support you!  We know for many, remote learning isn’t your preference but we are here to help.  Here are some resources to support you or you can reach out to your Guidance Counsellor by visiting the WCI Guidance webpage to book an appointment.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS:
1) Need to talk to a CYW?  Mr. A (damian_auxilly@wrdsb.ca) and Mr. Willms (bryan_willms@wrdsb.ca) are here to help!  To set-up a time to meet, please email them directly.
2) The WCI-Combined Community Resources List has information about:
– Mental health supports and contacts at WCI,
– Community mental health and counselling resources,
– Community sexual health resources,
– Food banks and nutrition-for-learning pop-up snacks information, and
– Educational resources.

NUTRITION FOR LEARNING & ACCESS TO FOOD SUPPORTS IN WATERLOO REGION:
1) Nutrition for Learning has pop-up locations for accessing food in the community.  The locations that are closest to WCI are the “TUESDAY” locations (Winston Churchill P.S., Cedarbrae P.S., Keatsway P.S., MacGregor Senior P.S.)
2) Check out the Food Supports for Individuals and Families in Waterloo Region document for access to more resources.  Please reach out to the CYW’s or Guidance if you need any help accessing these resources.

HELP WITH ASSIGNMENTS:
1) The REC Classroom is offering support for ALL Students! (Posted earlier today in the Google Classrooms): The REC classroom is running open Google Meets daily from 8:15-10:45am and again from 11:25-1:55pm. ANY student looking for academic support is welcome to drop in to this meet and meet with REC teachers.  Additionally, each day from 9:30-10:30am we are offering English/editing support and each day from 12:30-1:30pm we are offering Math support. Students can access these specific supports by joining the REC Google Meet and then they will be placed into a breakout room with either a Math or English knowledgeable SERT. An IEP is not required to come ask for help!
2) WCI Tutors: WCI Tutors are available for peer tutoring sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to help you with your schoolwork.  Meetings are virtual from 3:00-4:00pm.  Join our Google Classroom (Code: bjko5tg) to join the Google Meet.  Please complete the Request form and then, just show up and we will find you a tutor.  Email wcitutors@wrdsb.ca if you have questions.

 


TECH SUPPORTS:

1) Visit the WRDSB Tech at Home website for trouble-shooting any issues.
2) Complete the WCI IT Support/Repairs Google Form if you need assistance from WCI’s IT support, Ms. Penteker.
