Did you know Waterloo Collegiate runs a breakfast program every morning from 7:45am to 8:10am?
Everyone who needs it is welcome to take healthy food. Start a conversation with your teenager to see if they are accessing the program. There are many different reasons why students come in. Some have morning practice, others find themselves rushing out the door to catch the bus and some don’t always have healthy food available at home. Much of the time it is more of a convenience than a necessity. If this is the case, please consider giving back.
Here’s how you can help keep the program operating:
Donate online through the Nutrition For Learning link on the WCI website on the left hand column (look for symbol below). All of the money stays at WCI for only our breakfast program. A tax receipt will be given for any donation of $20.00 or more.
Students can bring in nutritious food donations that can be served for breakfast.
Students can put money in the donation jar in the breakfast room.
Students can volunteer to help.
It has been shown that eating breakfast helps with focus, mood and memory. Currently we serve upwards of 90 students a day. Nutrition for Learning provides us with limited funding that is not enough to cover the school year. We appreciate the continued generosity of the WCI community.
Thank you for your support of this important program.
