Clothing Drive Next Week

Did you know that North Americans send over 10.5 million tons of clothing to landfill each year, 95 per cent of which could have been reused or recycled?

Recycling Council of Ontario and Value Village have partnered to bring a unique, hands-on educational opportunity for Ontario secondary school students to learn about the environmental impacts of clothes consumption and textiles waste.

WCI will be participating in the #IGiveAShirt Challenge. WCI Students are challenged to organize a clothing collection drive for used clothing and textiles, and take action on textile waste.

Please bring your materials to Student Activities from Monday, October 15 – Friday, October 19 and place them in your grade’s bin. Please review the below list of materials accepted in the challenge before bringing them to school.
