Holidays are for Helping
It is time for WCI’s annual Holidays are for Helping charity drive! This year, we have chosen to support two organizations, Monica Place and New Toys for Needy Kids.
We are raising money for the New Toys for Needy Kids toy drive. This campaign provides presents for kids and youth in the Waterloo Region during the Holiday Season. They provide toys to kids in hospitals, foster homes, and those who aren’t as financially fortunate. There is a mason jar in each homeroom for collecting any money you would like to donate.
Monica Place is an organization that provides support for pregnant and parenting youth in the Waterloo Region. We are not able to accept used items, they must be new. Again, any items you wish to donate can be dropped off in your child’s homeroom. A list of items accepted is below.
List of Items for Monica Place:
- Gift Cards (President’s Choice, Giant Tiger, Loblaws, Food Basics, Visa, Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Tim Hortons, Superstore, Sobeys, or any other “essentials” store)
- Diapers/Rash cream/Baby wipes
- Baby formula/food
- Toothbrush/Toothpaste
- Soap/Body wash
- Shampoo
- Deodorant
- Pads/Tampons
- Pacifiers/Bottles
- Baby toys
- Reusable water bottles
- Baby/Toddler clothing
- Women and baby hats/mittens
- Bath towels
Please donate as much as you can between now and December 18. By donating these items, you are improving the lives of people in our community. We really appreciate all of your support, and can’t wait to see the impact that WCI has.
