WCI Guidance has important information to share with students entering post-secondary institutions in September, 2020.  This information is also of value to any students and families that want to learn more about post-secondary funding and scholarships.

OSAP APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN!
Ontario has launched applications for the 2020-21 Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) for full-time students. Students can now apply to the OSAP program for the 2020-21 school year for help with their post-secondary education costs.

Students who have questions about OSAP or the OSAP application can contact the Financial Aid Office at the college or university they plan to attend.

FREE POST-SECONDARY FUNDING ONLINE WORKSHOP
The WCI Guidance Department would like to present Glenda Healy’s Post-Secondary Funding Online Workshop. This workshop has been purchased for viewing by WCI students and parents/guardians.  THIS IS AN EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE PRESENTATION & THE BEST USE OF AN HOUR TO HELP NAVIGATE HOW TO FUND POST-SECONDARY, INCLUDING SPECIFIC UPDATES ABOUT COVID-19 SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITIES, OSAP AND FINANCIAL AID IMPLICATIONS.

The 60-minute workshop includes information on the following:
– the cost of post-secondary education
– college and university scholarships, bursaries, and awards: how to navigate the financial aid pages and apply
– external scholarships, bursaries, & awards: best tips on preparing, applying, and finding them
– update on government measures for students & opportunities for summer jobs
– Question & Answer period

THE SCHOLARSHIP REPORT
The Scholarship Report is also available for WCI students and families. The Report contains a number of scholarships with application deadlines in June and July, in addition to tips and ideas to start preparing for your post-secondary plans in September!

In order to access both the Post-Secondary Funding Online Workshop and The Scholarship Report, WCI students need to log in to their specific grade’s Guidance Google Classroom for links.  If your student has not yet joined their Guidance Google Classroom, here are the codes for each grade:
