Dear WCI families,

Today, at approximately 10:35 a.m., our school was placed into a hold and secure as the result of a threatening message that was received by staff. As part of our regular protocols, we notified the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), who responded to the school.

As part of our hold and secure protocol, students and staff remained inside and all exterior doors were locked so no one could enter or exit the building. Staff and students were safe inside the school or their portables at all times. Our school remained in hold and secure until we were assured by WRPS that it was safe to return to our regular school routines.

We will always take whatever precaution is necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff. We want to thank our partners at WRPS for helping to keep our schools safe places to learn. As always, please call our school if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Siobhan Watters
Principal
