Welcome Back!

We’re thrilled to share some important school start-up details with our students and families! We hope this information helps everyone feel prepared and excited for the new school year.

Construction

WCI has undergone significant construction and renovation over the summer and will continue to receive upgrades throughout the school year. Please be aware of areas marked, or closed for construction as you return to the building. Your safety is our top priority!

Student Timetables

Updated Student Timetables will be distributed to students on Wednesday, September 3, in first-period class. You can find out your first-period class and room by checking the lists in the Front Foyer and outside of the cafeteria – your first-period class will have a timetable for you.

Please Note: Student timetables may have been updated since their distribution in June. Any changes will be shown on the timetables distributed on Wednesday, if applicable.

First Day of School Schedule

The first day of school this year will be Wednesday, September 3rd! Students in all grades should report to their first-period classrooms at 8:15 a.m.

The schedule for Wednesday, September 3rd can be found HERE

On the first day of school, each grade will have some fun welcome activities near the end of the day, including a WCI Get Involved & Fall Sports Showcase!

For the remainder of the week (Thursday & Friday) students will follow their regular timetable – A, B, Lunch, C, D

Grade 9 Chromebook Distribution

  • If applicable, Medical Plan of Care forms will also be sent home with students during Period A.
  • Student Insurance forms will also be given to students in their Period A Class.

School Bus Information

Families should access the Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR) website to obtain information or inquire about school bus access.  Transportation details are now available!

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Location

  • There is NO stopping or parking on Hazel St. between Columbia St. and Hickory St. except for Grand River Transit and School Buses.
  • The bus lay-by at the front of the school is for school bus transportation only.  This also applies to the small cutout for Special Education Buses and Taxis.
  • Use the linked map to plan your drop-off and pick-up zones. The student parking lot can be used, but it may cause congestion, and drivers should be patient.

Student Parking

  • Students who drive to school and require parking must complete an agreement and return it to the  main office in order to receive their 2025-26 Student Parking Permit.
  • Permits must be displayed on the front dashboard of the car.
  • The student parking area is located across the street from the school in the lower parking lot.

Picture Day

This year’s picture day is scheduled for Monday, September 8. Details about photo package orders will be sent to families closer to the date. All students must have their pictures taken for their school records, even if they do not buy photos.

Keep Up to Date With School Information!

  • Please visit our website, where parents can subscribe to updates. You can also find information at the bottom of the site and stay connected through School-Day, as we will keep families informed throughout the school year.
