Hello WCI Students, Families & Caregivers!
We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, September 8! Please review the helpful startup information below (also shared through School-Day) as we prepare for the new school year.
2026-2027 STUDENT TIMETABLES
- We will send 2026-2027 timetables to students’ WRDSB Gmail over two days, September 3 and 4.
- Please check junk/spam folders if you don’t receive them.
- Students NEW to WRDSB this fall – your school email accounts will not activate until you have attended school in person. If we have contact info (personal or caregiver email), we will send your timetable to that address. Otherwise, to receive your timetable, please come to the main office on Tuesday before heading to your homeroom.
- Homeroom lists will be posted in the upper foyer, library, and cafeteria before classes start on Tuesday to help you find your Period A location if you did not receive your emailed schedule.
OPENING DAY SPECIAL SCHEDULE
- WCI FIRST DAY SCHEDULE: Only Grade 9 and ELD students attend morning activities. All students can access the cafeteria in the morning and attend scheduled classes in the afternoon.
CHROMEBOOKS
- Grade 9 students who have opted in for a WRDSB Chromebook will receive them on the first day of school.
- Any Grade 9 student, or any student new to the WRDSB, who did not opt in for a Chromebook must complete the Chromebook Opt-in Form on School-Day. Please come to the Main Office for access to School-Day Registration.
COURSE CHANGES
Students who wish to make a course change request for the coming school year, please complete the GUIDANCE COURSE CHANGE FORM
- The deadline to request a 1st-semester course change is Monday, Sept. 14th @ 8:00 a.m.
- Please do not message your guidance counsellor about course changes. Counsellors will be in touch IF your request is possible. If a change is NOT possible, you will be placed on a waitlist. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
- Guidance counsellors may be available for appointments beginning the week of September 21st.
LOCKER REQUESTS
- Students will receive locker information during homeroom. Students who want a locker must bring a combination lock to school. Keyed locks are not permitted.
- Students are not permitted to share lockers. A limited number of locks will be available for purchase in the main office.
STUDENT FORMS & PAPERWORK – Due by the end of the first week of school!
A School-Day message will be sent on September 8th with links to online forms that all families must complete.
- Media Release (Mandatory – this is to give permission to mainly be in the Yearbook)

- Medical Plan of Care forms – Printed forms to be given to applicable students the week of Sept. 8
- Data Verification Forms – Printed forms to be distributed to students the week of Sept. 14
ACTIVITY FEES
- Please pay all activity fees on School-Day; however, students who need to pay cash should come to the main office to make payment.
- WCI Activity Fee ($40) – MUST be paid for all students planning to join a team, club, or attend an event or school dance at WCI.
Note: Students who need financial assistance with fees should see their Vice Principal in the main office to arrange support.

STUDENT PARKING
- Student parking is available in the lots on Hazel Street. To park in these lots without getting a ticket or being towed, students must obtain a student parking pass.
- All students must complete the WCI STUDENT PARKING AGREEMENT and return it to the Main Office.
STUDENT DROP-OFF & PICK-UP LOCATIONS
- There is NO stopping or parking on Hazel St. between Columbia St. and Hickory St. with the exception of Grand River Transit and School Buses
- Please use the map to plan your best drop-off and pick-up zone. You may use the student parking lot, but please be aware that this can create congestion, and drivers will need to be patient.
STUDENT TRANSPORTATION
If you have questions about eligibility for bus transportation or other transportation-related questions, Busing information is currently available. Please contact STUDENT TRANSPORTATION OF WATERLOO REGION (STSWR) or call 519-744-7575.
FINAL 2026 REPORT CARD PICK-UP
- Students who did not pick up their final report cards in June may do so the week of Wednesday, Sept. 9 – Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 8 am to 3 pm in the WCI main office
SCHOOL COUNCIL
All WCI parents, guardians, and caregivers are warmly encouraged to join WCI’s School Council! Our first meeting will be held in person in the WCI library. Our School Council is a group of individuals who want to play a greater role in the school’s operations. If you fit this description, please plan to attend.
