Welcome, from WCI’s Parent Council! We would like to invite all parents of ESL students to attend a meeting of WCI’s Parent Council.  The meetings take place on the second Wednesday of every month (except December and March) at 7:00pm in the school library. Please watch the videos below to see what some WCI ESL parents had to say about being a part of the Council.

Video 1: Welcome Message from Past Chairs, Joan and Jane
Jane and Joan are both past chairs of the WCI Parent Council and have been members of the Parent Council for a numbers of years. Jane has one son in grade 12 at WCI and an older son who graduated from WCI and is currently pursuing a university degree. Joan also has 2 sons, both of whom have graduated from WCI and are currently pursuing university degrees.

Video 2: Jennifer shares her WCI Parent Council Experience
Jennifer and her family came to Canada from Taiwan in 2012. She is currently a full-time ESL student and has 2 children at WCI, a daughter in grade 11 and a son in grade 12.

Video 3: Weifung describes the benefits of joining the WCI Parent Council
Weifung and her family came to Canada from Lanzhou in mainland China in 2011. Weifang is doing research work in the environmental field at the University of Waterloo. She has one son in grade 11 at WCI.

Video 4: Ladan describes the benefits of joining the WCI Parent Council
Ladan and her family came to Canada from Tehran, Iran in 2007. Ladan is both a computer and electrical engineer, having earned degrees in both fields. She has a son and daughter, both of whom recently graduated from WCI and are currently pursuing university degrees.

Penny and her family came to Canada from the Fujian province in mainland China in 2012. Penny is currently a full-time ESL student and has one son in grade 12 attending WCI.
