In the Business Department we offer two key courses in Grade 9 & 10.

BEM 1OI – Business: Building the Entrepreneurial Mindset

Have you ever wondered how entrepreneurs turn ideas into reality? In this course, you’ll explore what business is all about and learn to think like an entrepreneur who solves problems, takes action, and creates new opportunities. Along with using business tools and software, you’ll explore skills like creativity, adaptability, and financial smarts. Through hands-on activities, you’ll develop your own business ideas, create prototypes, and learn how to pitch them to an audience. Along the way, you’ll build essential skills like time management, teamwork, clear communication and so much more. All of which will help prepare you for success in school, work, and life.

BEP 2OI – Launching and Leading a Business

This course introduces students to the world of business and what is required to be successful, ethical, and responsible in today’s economy. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to be an entrepreneur who knows how to respond to local and global market opportunities. Throughout the course, students will explore and understand the responsibility of managing different functions of a business. This includes accounting, marketing, information and communication technology, financial management, human resources, and production.

Computer Science

Starting in Grade 10 we have a robust computer science program that can be paired with the Engineering and Robotics courses in Technology.
