Pathwasys in Business

BBI 1OI – Introduction to Business

According to University studies, an Introductory Business course such as BB1 can “increase job prospects, create advancement opportunities, and increase your salary and lifetime income (Franklin University 2020).” Eventually, all students will encounter the world of business. Because this is an Open course, it supports pathways to Workplace, Training, College or University. This inclusive course helps students succeed in Secondary School, developing skills in:

• Applications software
• Financial planning + Personal Finance
• Entrepreneurship Skills
• Operating systems
• Economics
• Numeracy skills
• Privacy issues
• Social responsibility
• Equity and diversity

BTT 1OI – Introduction to Information Technology in Business

This course introduces students to information and communication technology in a business environment and builds a foundation of digital skills necessary for success in a technologically driven society. Students will develop presentations, websites, word processing, spreadsheets and design skills. Throughout the course there is an emphasis on current issues related to the impact of information and communication technology. Units of study include:
• Current Popular Technology, Trends, Issues and Ethics
• Website Design
• Presentation Software
• Business Productivity Software

Computer Science

Starting in Grade 10 we have a robust computer science program that can be paired with the Engineering and Robotics courses in Technology.
