HIF 1OI – Exploring Family Studies
This course is an excellent introduction to our Family Studies Department. It includes opportunities to cook (and eat), how to sew, make better decisions, budget our money and build healthy relationships with friends and family; all critical and practical skills related to daily living.
Students will use research skills to explore many topics and trends related to individual needs and the diversity of Canadian families. The course will look at units that include:
• Families in Our Society
• Meal Planning, Household Safety, Creating a Budget
• Adolescent Development, Conflict Resolution and Building Healthy Relationships
• Clothing Care and Sewing
